I filter my mail through Google, which does a pretty good job of weeding out the junk into a spam folder. Unfortunately though, I still end up with a lot of mail in that folder, to the extent that it is sometimes difficult to spot the genuine enquiries. If you are contacting me for the first time (or from a new email address that I'm not likely to have on record), and don't get a response, try including the word unsolicited in the subject field of your mail. If you do this, my highly trained filters will hopefully rescue your email from the torrent of gibberish that I normally receive :)
